


What is it?
The International Basketball Convention (CIBA) is the largest annual basketball sporting event on the Costa del Sol, organized by former players and world champions Berni Rodríguez and José Manuel Calderón, with support from Fuengirola City Council.
When and where?
It will be held on June 28 and 29, 2025, at the Juan Gómez 'Juanito' Pavilion and the Peace Palace in Fuengirola.
Participation and format
More than 500 players are participating in the CIBA Open 3x3 tournament, from pre-mini to cadet categories, on up to six courts set up for the occasion.
Around 120 teams, both men's and women's.
Around 300 matches are played over two days, with morning and afternoon tournaments on Saturday and Sunday (10:00–18:00).
Featured Activities
Fan Zone with bouncy castles, a play area, music and entertainment (open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days).
CIBA Forum: Discussion on Saturday with the 2025 Footprint Awards , presented to Ana Cruz, Paloma del Río, and the Sport Change Project.
Olé Star: a spectacular match in which a team of artists, athletes, and former players faces off against Academia 675 (athletes with cognitive disabilities). Sunday includes the Baby Basket party, with more than 100 children registered.
Objective of the event
Promote basketball as a vehicle for integration, education, health, technological innovation, tourism, and sports networking with inclusive, educational, and entertainment activities for the whole family.
